While filming our flashback scenes, we found it incredibly challenging to align the performance scene with the flashback scenes seamlessly. We had to constantly reference the performance scene while filming and decided to put the clips into iMovie to visualize the transitions as we filmed and make sure it looked good.
Here is how the transition turned out for one of our favorite parts where we went back and forth:
